    one of the biggest acts of sexism (and racism) is that it is not mainstream knowledge what the names of the women back singers/women who did duets with men during the atlantic/motown heyday eras. ray charles and otis redding had two of the most notable moments in music history with their duets with women (tramp, with otis redding and hit the road jack, with ray charles) and how many people can name the women they are dueting with without doing a google search?
