i just had this conversation w/ my birthday twin and we agreed that if we can’t have a down-to-the-bone kind of intimacy with someone (it’s emotional, it’s spiritual, physical doesn’t even cover it), we don’t wanna be bothered.

down-to-the-bone intimacy doesn’t include letting someone stomp all over you because you love them. it doesn’t mean you have no boundaries. it does, however, mean an evenly matched work ethic when it comes to being present, and being vulnerable.

it’s not gonna be the easiest thing to find, and maybe not the easiest thing to maintain.  but it is most certainly what i want.
