Whatever.  And as a WOC I really resent the constant implication that I will agree to some party line that makes aggression okay no matter how much it tears down other people as long as it concerns race (see baddominicana not speaking for me when expressing her displeasure). 

I fully believe in your right to express aggression. I further believe that it’s okay for me to respond aggressively when you hurt my fee-fees. Notice that your counter-argument only states that criticizing the terminology you use isn’t sensitive to your class background. And sure, “bitch” and “hoe” are a part of your dialect. They’re a part of mine, too. That’s why I care. So, in summary: “hollywood sucks”; “hey, don’t be mean about that”; “whatever, hoe”; “hey, why throw gender issues to the wind when you’re defending your right to be upset about hollywood?”; “You’re not respecting class-issues. I don’t know shit about “axes of oppression” or whatever, white lady”; “I’m not white, don’t tell me how to deal with violence towards me.”  

“Bitch” is used to control me every time I get aggressive. To use it when you’re defending your aggression, is, in the language of my people, totes ridic. You don’t have to participate in taking me down to defend yourself.

hm. i can’t find where this discussion stems from—but i just wanted to clarify.

What I wrote is SO not the “party line.” it was written in response TO what is a “party line.” that using what SJ folks have deemed to be “inappropriate language” calls for “corrections.” and is about “internalized oppression.” i.e. there’s something “broken’ with anybody who uses “inappropriate” language and SJ is about fixing *THAT* broken (i.e. the woman of color using the word bitch) rather than fixing structural issues with language like: why do some women only *have* the word bitch to use?

also—I was interrogating why “aggression” is defined as my filthy mouth, and NOT as the man rubbing his cock on my ass or the white woman denying me a 25 cent raise because she felt like it.

I am not saying anybody can just lay around picking their noses screaming at jesus angels about get their motha fucking cock sucking angel ass down from the goddamn clouds and sit their ho ass the fuck down who you think you are flying all over the damn world like that?
